			<description><![CDATA[ Last night, CBC showed 1 hour of an ISU gala from Italy. They showed programs from Carolina, S/S from Germany. D/D and Jeff from Canada, Stephane L.and D/S
from France. The highlights of the show were the programs from Sasha Cohen and Evgeny Plushenko. Their programs were well skated and they both did encore
performances. I had wondered what happened to Sasha as I haven&#39;t heard anything about her for awhile, so it was nice to see her skate. My general

			<description><![CDATA[ Of course in 1998 the big 3 pairs were Berezhnaya/Sikharulidze, Kazahkova/Dmitriev, and Woetzel/Steuer.  These 3 pairs battled for the medals at both the 1998
GP final and 1998 Olympics.    At the 1998 GP final Elena and Anton skated beautifully while the other 2 pairs both had shaky free skates and Elena and Anton
won easily, while Woetzel/Steuer won a close 2nd place over Kazahkova/Dmitriev.  Then at the Olympics it was Kazahkova/Dmitriev who this time skated

has bought the company and decided to focus on expanding its tours internationally in Europe and Asia because of the popularity of skating there. Last
year&#39;s tour went to 23 US cities compared to the over 100 cities it used to visit prior to 2002. It seems that SLC was over-promoted in Canada and US and

			<description><![CDATA[ I watched a repeat of  the men&#39;s long and free dance highlights on Sunday night on CBC. Unfortunately, I had to go away last week so I missed everything.

Tracy Wilson and Kurt Browning were the commentators. Tracy mentioned that it was 20 years ago that Kurt first did his quad in Budapest. I didn&#39;t find
their commentary too bad.

They would become the first German pair, in fact the first Germans at all, to win Worlds since Woetzel/Steuer in 1997 11 years ago.   The irony is Ingo Steur is of course their coach. 			<description><![CDATA[ 5pm, MST that is. I want to watch the mens competition in particular.  I heard Brian Joubert is sick (thickening of arteries). He finished third in that competition and he plans to compete at worlds. Good luck Brian.<br><br>Both Russian pairs had major problems in the free skate, from what I had heard. Sounds like V&amp;M got robbed, so I want to see that.<br><br>I am interested in how DomShab skate. 			<description><![CDATA[ I watched the US nationals today. What a shocker in the ladies!  I was so sad for Kimmie. I hope the USFSA still puts her on the worlds team. She is a former world champion and is likely to perform better than Katrina Hacker, who placed higher than Kimmie by less than 1 point. Ashley Wagner and Bebe Liang will make the world team, by virtue of their placements tonight. I wonder if the USFSA may place Emily Hughes on the team, in stead of Katrina or Kimmie? One thing I noticed was that Nancy Kerrigan seemed much happier in 1991 and 1992 when she was an underdog challenger in events like Worlds or the Olympics, who was still medaling everytime, but who never once came close to finishing above her good friend Kristi Yamaguchi.
